The Assassin’s Curse is filled with action and characters that are fascinating. Ananna of the Tanarau is the main character – she’s a pirate and a thief and then there is that pesky price on her head. That right there makes for a good story. Then comes the assassin, Naji, who is dark and mysterious and is sporting some serious scars – an even better storyline emerges.

While the book is a quick read and it feels light and easy to read – it’s not filled with fluff. There are some emotional storylines for both of the characters and then combining their problems makes for more emotions to run wild. As the book description states there is a curse that they are trying to break – and curses mean magic! The magic in the story is just as interesting and has it’s own differences from other stories. The ending came too quick for me and I want more – good thing it’s the start to a series, a pleasant surprise for me!
