Read in January, 2005

A great overview of cryptology! The combination of historical examples and technical detail make the book appeal to a wide range of people. Enough math so you can explore further if you like, but little enough that you can push your "i believe" button and go merrily along.
Plus, the back of the book has 10 codes for you to try to break.
