So this isn't what I expected. But I did kinda figure it out halfway through. It was still a good read.

Eva goes to Malta to complete her dissertation, there she is rescued from a "spawn of Satan" spider by the sexy-as-hell Luca Minaldi. Luca is very antisocial due to his family curse. Hired to take care of his demented mother, Eva can't help but fall for the enigma of Luca. Murders happen on the island, is Luca responsible or is there something else going on??

The POV switches mainly between Luca and Eva. Very well done, nothing was really repeated.

The characters were very likable. You could totally fall for Luka, even in his moodiness. Eva was super sweet but a little too perfect. I wish the author went into her background a little more.

The sex scenes were very average but with a little kink. I think the prologue will give you an idea, it threw me for a loop.

I think I will continue the series, just because I can see where the author is trying to go.
