I chose the book Harris and Me because I like how this book demonstrates how anyone can do something no matter how hard the task, even if you are a city boy and you get put on a farm with your cousin, you can get through it if you just try. I love how detailed Gary Paulsen makes this novel. He talks about the lynx in such detail and it almost feels like you are there. I would incorporate this book into my classroom by reading it aloud chapter by chapter every day. Since this book is a chapter book, I feel like that will help them expand on the details in the book and talk about it in groups. I remember my 5th grade teacher (Mr. Davey) reading it to us, and it has stuck in my brain ever since. I feel like it really made an impact on me so I feel like it will do so to my classroom as well. I want to show them the lesson of them being able to do anything if you just put your mind to it.
