it was amazing

This book is quite emotional at the start and end. In the beginning Phillip has to leave his dad and go with his mum to a safer place. On the day they are due to leave Phillip feels angry and sad about leaving his home place. When the are travelling on the boat it gets hit by a torpedo and phillip ends up in the middle of the ocean on a raft with a black stranger called Timothy.Their raft follows the current of the tides and on the second day phillip goes blind that makes him upset and angry. All this bad luck is thought to be being caused by stew cat the cook from the ships cat which Timothy rescued when the ship got hit by a torpedo. Then timothy finds and islandn and they build a hut there to sleep in and light a fire to catch passing planes attention. To eat they catch fish because there are no animals on the island big enough to eat on the island. After a while Phillip gets angry and upset because he can't see or do anything that is why i rate this book 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5. I reccommend this book for ages 10 and up as some of the dialect is hard.
