South of Superior
by Ellen Airgood
by Ellen Airgood
Random selection from the library.
Thoughts as of page 61 - Too many perspectives. It's jumping all over the place in regards to who the current narrator is. A bit slow moving. Hopefully it will get better! Author's first novel.
Ending thoughts - The cover endorsement says that this book is "a celebration of the ever-surprising strengths of the human spirit." To me, the story just felt depressing. Being poor, forced to deal with how life treats you rather than creating your own way. Discovering family but not knowing how or not being brave enough to investigate the past. Advice to just accept. I closed the book feeling resigned.
