bookshelves: colors

Mouse Paint is a book about primary and secondary colors. It starts by the mice hopping into the primary colors of red, blue, and yellow. When the mice started playing in the puddles of the other mice, they realized they made secondary colors. This book is great for teaching primary and secondary colors. The illustrations of this book accurately show how when the colors are mixed together they can make new colors.

Learning Experience:
The learning experience for mouse paint would be to have the children take the three primary colors red, blue, and yellow and mix them two at a time to find the secondary colors. This can either be done in a plastic bag or using a Popsicle stick and a paint tray. Age group: Pre-k through kindergarten.
