really liked it

I found the whole series enjoyable and very readable. While the main themes are pretty basic (good vs evil, the value of friends, finding your inner strength, the power of love) they are handled beautifully, and there is much humor throughout. The descriptions are fully drawn and cinematic in scope. While the outcome wasn't uncertain to me, I found more than enough tension to keep my interest.

For those afraid that their children will want to learn 'magic' after reading these books, relax. If magic were that easy all the kids would be doing it; and they aren't, in case you haven't noticed.
