Picked this up upon a recommendation from Patrick Rothfuss. It was pretty good. something about the chapters made it feel strangely episodic. Maybe i've just been listening to too many audiobooks, but reading this it felt choppy to me. Maybe i'm just not use to seeing the protagonist fall asleep half a dozen times (compared to Dresden who seems never to go to sleep)

A cool thing about this book though is that even though its about angels and demons, the protagonists doesn't really have any magical powers. I kept waiting for some dues ex machina of magical powers being discovered to save the guy. But that never really happens, he just has to out think everything. It kept the stakes pretty high.

The narrator is pretty funny and the book feels original, but it didn't really knock me off my feet.
