As Pramoedya Ananta Toer said, He rewrite the legend which has been written at year of 1462 in çaka's calendar (Hindi's).

Previously, I know the name of "Calon Arang", it is a legend, isn't it. But, I never knew the story. Thus, what is written in the book "Contribution for the world from Indonesia".

For me, this is a story of love. The love between parents and the children. It shows that the good (Empu Baradah) and the bad (Calon Arang) do their best in the name of love, their loves to their children. The have the same feeling but different ways.

It also tells that there always be a second chance for everyone. Calon Arang who did many terrible things, has been given a second chance by Empu Baradah. She was killed, awaken to learn good things and be killed again.

It also reminds me that power and wealthiness are not everything. Erlangga, the King, has decided to be a monk. And we need to be wise on using whatever we have; power, money, knowledge and skills.

Pramoedya Ananta Toer
