It took me a long time to get into this book. It was another one where I wasn't really a fan of one of the main characters. And there were so many "trips down memory lane" that I didn't have memories of, being a child of the 80's. It was like a d-list celebrity name-dropping. Like she was trying too hard to get the reader to be in the moment. And every other sentence had about 7 adjectives in it. All of that said, the book was good. Though, I do wonder how good it would have been if I hadn't live my entire life in the Pacific Northwest, the area the book was set in. It was nice to know about the areas that were mentioned, but I wonder how the story would have read if I wasn't familliar with The Sound and Queen Anne Hill. Luckily by the end of the story, Tully had begun to redeam herself and I was sucked in. I'm also terrified of the years to come with my daughter. This book really shoved down my throat how horrible I was as a teen and what I can now look forward to in about 6 years. And yes, dang it, I did tear up 4 times and almost cried twice.
