I received this book through the Goodreads First Reads giveaway and had high hopes for this book based on the blurb. I started the book and got through the first 80 or so pages and then set the book down, not picking it up again for five months. It's a bit of an odd duck, this book. I think it is marketed for young adult readers but it doesn't have the hook or pacing of the usual YA fare, and as an adult, I'm afraid I don't care to read about the antics of a couple of fifteen-year-olds, even if murder is the topic. It is much more plodding, unfolding slowly before readers and not really ever sinking teeth in to anything. Cold Light is, however, aptly named, as the plot goes from overcast to outright dark and gloomy and weaves its way to a less than satisfying conclusion.
