Loved this book! It is a bit dreary (after all it is a Stephen King book), the mood is intensely dark and harsh, bitter yet in many ways sweet. The heavy gloom that hangs over the Green Mile is lifted a bit by the healing power of inmate John Coffey, the kindness and compassion of the main character, the loving relationship between the main character and his wife, and of course, Jingles, the mouse who can bring down the house.
