Read in January, 2009

Fascinating writing style. If I were a Booker Prize judge, I would have placed this on the short list, but not have given it the prize. Some of the most beautiful and meaningful language is toward the end -- as she realizes that she has been falling, falling, falling -- into her authentic self. I'll find the passage and quote it later.

I also appreciate the way she engages memory and truth, or better, truths.
