This was a really interesting difference to the Lorien books. Instead of reading from each Garde's perspectives, this one is from a unique perspective by a young Mogadorian boy's, "Adamus" as the three first Garde are killed. What is neat about this, is that you get a better sense of the lives that the "Mogs" lead. Their childhood, their training, the difference between True-Borns and the Mog military that we have come to know in these books up to this point, is detailed in a way that shines the whole race into a different light.

(view spoiler) You would not know this if not for this book.

I read this book after reading The Rise of Nine, so I have not seen this characteristic transition into the main story as of yet; I wonder if Pittacus will work another Mog of this kind into any future books. I can't wait for the next installment...

Joseph Am I the only one hoping that they find One's body hasn't deteriorated at all and that One will be revived since she technically is already alive?
