Read in January, 2009

Originally published under a pseudonym because Plath didn't believe it to be a "serious work." I like how protagonist Esther Greenwood--and probably Plath herself--can't shed conventionality in some ways, and sometimes doesn't even want to talk about it. Sylvia Plath is so good she is intimidating, but I also have a theory that she was a really cool person.
