My friend, Roxann, invited me to a Powell's Author event, where I got the opportunity to see Kathy Reichs. She was so impressive that I decided to pick up her 1st novel. However, since Roxann and I arrived early to get a good seat, I started reading "Bones are Forever" and got to page 45 by the start of the event. The novel starts with the discovery of dead babies. There was also a missing dog. I was too stressed out to find out what happened to them that I couldn't start from book 1 and had to complete Bones are Forever, book 15. Kathy is an amazing writer, who else could write a story involving many dead babies and make the readers feel bad for everyone involved?
