Enjoyed even more than the first Gregor book, since now I have the interesting species of the Underworld a little more in hand. Life has returned to semi-normal in NYC for Gregor and his family. HIs father is still ill after his 2+ years in the Underland, so mom must work a lot to keep the family in food. Gregor spends every Saturday doing odd jobs for a neighbor, but often still has time to play with his sisters. One snowy Saturday, Lizzie remains behind to keep an eye on grandma, while Gregor and Boots go sledding. Boots is kidnapped by some crawlers in Central Park, so Gregor alerts his family this time, and takes off down the passageway to the Underworld behind a Park rock. There, he discovers they have taken Boots for her own good--to keep her safe. The latest prophecy fortells her death, and Gregor must once again join forces with some of Regalia's finest to find the Bane and keep him from the Rats.
