Queen Isabella is a princess of France and married to King of England. Eventually she helps oust the king in favor or her young son and rules till he comes of age. Weir gives uses lots of research and will gives different theories and shares whether she finds them plausible. The main story is fairly easy to follow but there is tons of tons of side characters and descriptions of visiting many places that I just kind of tuned out because it was overwhelming. I find I like her more recent fiction books a little better but I did enjoy learning this part of English history.
