Wow! I just finished The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes, and it was really good. At first, I wasn't sure I would like it...it seemed a bit slow setting the scene, and then I grew impatient waiting for the crime that I had figured out was going to happen. Things really clicked for me when CeeCee became Eve and her new life began to evolve. When everything started to unravel, I couldn't put the book down, and I read over 200 pages today.

The aspects of the book that drew me in were the mother-daughter relationships as well as the family dynamics. This was more than a crime story; it was the story of personality and overcoming challenges, both physical and psychological. It was also a story of revenge and forgiveness, and unconditional love and acceptances. It was a great story on so many levels.

This was the first book by Diane Chamberlain that I have read, but it certainly won't be the last.
