really liked it

This is the second book in the series, the first being Croak. I loved reading Croak and couldn't wait for the sequel
so I jumped at the chance to read and review this book.
Lex is a grim reaper and has some unusual abilities. In the book Scorch, she finds herself
trying to stay one step ahead of Zara (once a reaper and now an outlaw of Croak) and solve the
secrets kept to protect her friends and the townspeople of Croak.
When I started reading I felt as though I was missing some pieces of the story so I went back and
read parts of Croak to familiarize myself with details that I wanted clarified. I highly recommend reading Croak before Scorch.
The characters are well defined and likeable. The plot is different and very interesting and after the first few chapters the story is totally engrossing. The dialogue is
edgy and sometimes very funny. What I love most about this series is the descriptions of the Afterlife and really the whole idea of the town and people
of Croak.
Overall, I love this series and if you are looking for something creative and unique to read than
Gina Damico's books are for you!
