I didn't think it would be possible for this one to be better than Totally Joe, but I was wrong. This one was intended to be read first - and I would recommend doing so.
The voice of Bobby Goodspeed is powerful. It's the voice of a 12 year old - but a 12 year old who is funny (although he doesn't know it), intelligent (although he doesn't seem to recognize it), and just starting to figure out who he really is.
It's not hard to figure out why this book has inspired "No Name Day" in schools across the country. I intend to give a copy to my dad and sister, who both teach middle school.
