This book has been making the rounds of my high school students for a couple of years. Even the most reluctant reader seems to be able to get lost in Eva's story of grief and letting go. I thought it was going to go down the "get-over-dead-boy-by-finding-new-live-boy" path, which would have troubled me deeply. Instead, Schroeder goes in a more real direction, for an ending that is both believable and satisfying. Musical references pepper the text, and Ava's friends seem real. All in all, a deservedly poplar tittle for those seeking an easy read.
