Read in November, 2008

If I were to teach a course on Hannah Arendt, I would start the syllabus with this book. Although it comes later in her writings than her more important books, it clarifies some of her vocabulary and ideas that she uses elsewhere. Especially interesting is her distinction between power, strength, and violence.
