This book was not, for me, a life-changing event.

Perhaps it was all of the hype surrounding the book that led to my very big let-down. Perhaps it was the fact that the writing is, to be kind, not very sophisticated. Perhaps, when you combine these elements with a story which is both preachy and confusing, the result is my one-star review.

I set out to like this book. That is the sad part about this. I was eagerly hoping this would be a powerful reading experience. Instead, is seemed to simpy be a gimmick taken to the extreme.

To those for whom this book is "life-changing", I am very happy for you. I do not mean to malign your religious beliefs - for I likely share those same beliefs.

However, for those looking for a great piece of literature with spiritual overtones - you are likely served better elsewhere.
