I liked that SM was written differently, but although it was interesting and unique the way Ms. Mafi portrays the main characters thoughts, I found this particular style of writing made me automatically not read the struck out sentences. then I'd remember I need to read it and I'd have to go back and re-read which got tedious. And it's just a personal thing. I'd borrowed the book from the library and still bought my own copy, so it's not a matter of disliking the writing style.
It was interesting and I was intrigued about how well it worked.
Admittedly I was a not fan of the main character, I felt all too often she was the damsel in distress, and she barely got a chance to show the reader if she had any kick-assness in her at all.
I will be following the series to find out though so definitely a good read for me.
All in all four stars for Shatter Me.
