really liked it
bookshelves: own-copy, dog-books, loaned

This book was a gift and I doubt he realized what a powerful book it was. Temple was diagnosed as autistic and her mother was told to put her away, as was the custom in those days. The mother, fortunately for Temple, refused and while the book does not tell her whole story, it is sufficient for one to see what a remarkable person she is and how her "disability" has enabled her to see what will help animals. She's made major strides as a woman in a field that was male dominated and stoically ignored their abuse and criticism.
