3.5 rounded up. I have to say that Randy Lincoln is adorable. Unapologetic in who he is and what he wants, lover of eyeliner and lip gloss, flirty and funny. He’s also vulnerable and a little insecure, wanting his dream so badly yet fearful it isn’t going to happen. When he finally gives up on getting a part on Broadway, he comes to stay with his grandmother, the only member of his family who will talk to him, let alone accept him.

Win, the self proclaimed nerd, also lives with gramma, having moved in to help her, as well as being stuck after his ex-boyfriend Dean out of the blue decided they were breaking up and he was moving without Win. When the two meet up again, Win remembers instantly who Randy is, mainly because Randy was his first and only one-night stand. Randy has to be reminded of Win, alas.

Both grandmothers are great characters, funny but not meddling (well, not obviously anyway!). Dean, the ex-boyfriend who makes a reappearance, is a complete asshat and Win, what were you thinking even being with that jerk. I hated him.

The story has a nice flow to it, and it was a 4 hearts for me until the end, when it lost a little by being rushed. Randy is keeping a secret from Win, one that makes a huge difference in their relationship. This had the potential to be dramatic, but it was glossed over very easily and simply.

All in all, a sweet, quick read with likeable characters and positive females, always a plus!
