Redemption was an interesting book. It should attract 16-20 year olds because of the elements involved in the story line. There is mystery, magic, rock music, and love. A 17 year old boy, Guilliume, has been encased as a gargoyle for 70 years. There is a 16 year old girl, Aude, who releases him as she is being attacked by stone monsters and she starts to chant in a language she doesn't know. There is also ancient Iroquois mysticism that reveals the destruction of Montreal.

Aude is a budding rock star along with her two best friends. She meets Guilliume who helps her realize who she is and how he will be involved in her life. Guilliume has a "family" of former gargoyles who were also released. Together, with Aude they fight the forces that want to destroy Montreal.
