Thus far the characters come off very strong to this novel, while the plot is somewhat abstract, the book seems rather good.

Reading this novel was a bit of a different experience, in an unsual way. Having already read Quinn's "Lost Duke of Wyndham," I was well into the novel before realizing this was a parallel story of a couple mentioned in the previous novel.

Having rather enjoyed "Lost Duke of Wyndham," I was rather pleased to say the same for "Mr. Cavendish, I Presume." In this story, who's plot ties directly into the other book, the current Duke of Wyndham had been betrothed to Amelia Willoughby since birth. Having ignored her for most of her life, Thomas, the duke, suddenly finds himself quickly falling in love with Amelia, yet not soon afterward Jack Audley comes to the scene, being forced to claim the rightful title since he is the longlost heir. While the plot is rather simple, and the ending even more so, this book was very fun to read because chemestry between Grace (Thomas' grandmother's companion), Jack, Thomas, and Amelia is very entertaining.

My one critism comes in the last few pages of the epilogue, which ended rather dully. Aside from this negative, overall the book lighthearted and interesting.
