First off, I love Sarah Vowell's sense of humor. Whether she's being silly or serious, her sense of dry wit comes shining through at just the right moments. Second, I feel a kinship with her- we're both historical site buffs from the west - but I feel it especially with this book because we share the same hero/godlike worship of Lincoln. (My coworkers were beginning to believe that I was the only one. Take that!)
The book isn't so much an organized look at her trips through the assassinations of three presidents as an almost stream-of-consciousness journey. It could have used a map or two, but overall it was interesting and actually enlightening. Good fun (which is odd to say about a book about assassinations, but there you have it.)
