Sara Shepard does it again with the fourth novel in the Lying Game series!

Hide and Seek follows closely with where Two Truths and One Lie stopped with Emma suspecting Laurel as the one who killed Sutton. She goes on trying to find evidence and it turns out Laurel is clear.

Still, who tried to run Thayer over at Sabino Canyon? Who has been trying to hurt Emma? Emma stumbles upon a family secret where she thinks her father is having an affair. She is shocked and suddenly Mr Mercer is a potential suspect in Sutton's death. Emma is really afraid of him but actually it is not as it seems.

Mr Mercer has been meeting with Becky, Emma and Sutton's biological mother and it is revealed that Mr and Mrs Mercer are Becky's parents which would make them Sutton and Emma's grandparents. Emma is actually related to the Mercer family but Mr Mercer kept this secret from Sutton because he was trying to protect her from Becky, who is unstable. Mrs Mercer does not know that Sutton is her granddaughter. Which means Laurel is Emma and Sutton's aunt! Wow, just wow what a bomb!

With the other Lying Game ladies, they are framed for vandalising school property by some young freshman girls. Because of this, The Harvest Dance is cancelled much to the student body's chagrin. So the girls plan their own dance and to get back on the Devious Four by revealing some footage showing that they are the real culprits.

So this book concludes with Emma finding she does have a real family but she has to solve Sutton's murder before she can tell them who she really is. This series is just a pleasure to read honestly, I can't wait another minute for book five!
