Wow! I have no idea how someone can write such a poignant and elegant story! Absolutely wonderful. I had no idea what I was expecting in this book as although it seems like the back-cover tells a lot about the story, there is so much more in this book. Novels have been written about persecuted Jews in concentration camps and those who actually fought in WWII, but no one ever writes about the normal, every-day citizens in Germany who also suffered under Hitler's regime, just in different ways. Liesel is such a true and real person and her story had me crying all the way through the last part of the book. I'm going to recommend this book to everyone I know! 10/10
