I enjoyed this book. The world building was very interesting and well-done; post-war between the fey and humans. I thought the author captured the feelings of those directly and indirectly affected by the war very well. I felt Jane's despair and self-loathing (probably partly her true self and partly her 'curse' coming through), as well as her sister's mixed emotions about their relationship and society in general.

The relationship between Jane and Dorie, Rochart's daughter, was very well done, and for me, the most interesting dynamic in the story. Their bond of trust was compelling and heart-warming. There were several secondary characters that enriched the story, especially Poule, and the kind of 'dynamic duo' partnership that developed between her and Jane was a nice addition to the second half of the book. I wish Jane and Edward would have spent more time together. Their relationship feels like the beginning of something interesting and complex. I'm curious to see where the author takes the story next.

Thanks. Sounds interesting, though it's been many, many years since I've read Jane Eyre.
