Book: Restless
Author: Jae El Foster
Genre: Romance, Paranormal (Ghosts), Suspense
Length: Short Story Approximately 54 Pages
Enjoyable short story.
In RESTLESS by JAE EL FOSTER, Nicola has had a long dry bout with writer's block. She has to do something to break it, so she goes on a trip to a small town called Woodland Village in Europe to interview the townsfolk and get some of her writer's juices flowing again. Unfortunately after several weeks of interviews, nothing is coming to her. Nothing is exciting her.
Unable to sleep one night, she hears something outside and decides to investigate. After finding herself alone in the dark except for the person (or thing) that is following her and too far away from the safety of town to feel comfortable, she panics and starts to run through the woods. Nicola comes across an old run down castle and decides it's in her best interest to enter even though no one is answering her knocks. She soon finds her muse locked away inside the castle.
This is a good story, but so sad. I'd really like to see this storyline developed into a novel. I'd love to hear about some of Nicola's interviews and get more background on the town and its legends. I liked this author's voice and would enjoy reading more of his stories.
