A wonderful book. I can imagine reading this book as a ninth grader, (perhaps it's much earlier now) and I identify with Garnet and Isabelle. It was such a thoughtful, well written book, with lots of questions, and answers, that need to be thought out by the reader. I loved how she wove the history of Excelsior and Lake Minnetonka, as well as all of the birds, into a personal voyage as to how to embrace her own life.
