Marilyn has just taken an editing job at her father's publishing company and is out to prove herself. She has the brilliant idea of putting together a cooking contest, featuring three of the company's top cookbook authors. The only problem is one of them refuses to play along, saying it's impossible for him to leave home for any amount of time. Marilyn won't take no for an answer though, and she's wanted to meet the reclusive author, Jackson Delacroix, for quite some time now. Just his voice over the phone sends shivers down her spine and she's spent a lot of time studying his author photo on the back of his books. So she decides to surprise him by moving the cooking contest to his very own backyard. To her surprise, once she arrives she finds out he can't cook, but she's determined to teach him before both their careers are ruined. She had no idea that the man could do so much more to her than his voice hinted at...

I liked this book--it gripped me right up until the end, although I felt a little dissatisfied at the conclusion. I expected a little bit more since the entire book is leading up to the cook-off competition and then doesn't deliver anything in that area. The book is mostly about the hot romance between the two main characters though. I liked Jackson Delacroix, who spends most of the time hiding his secrets before coming clean. I felt there was maybe a little too much story-telling on his part as he told Marilyn about his past and his family. Those parts lost me a little bit, but the action managed to drag me back in. There are comedic moments to this book that fit in well with the tone. Each chapter starts off with a recipe, which I liked. A couple of them are funny as well. The sex scenes are hot and well written, although the characters seemed to move their relationship along a little fast for only knowing each other a week.
