I wasn't sure I would like this at first. It's a bunch of short stories, first of all, which I am always somewhat suspicious of. And the cover (yeah, ok, I judged by it a little) seems kind of sappy and overly sentimental somehow. But I pretty quickly got sucked in, to pretty much every story, even when they involved a totally new set of characters. Though at times the male narrator got on my nerves with the way he emphasized certain words, for the most part listening to the audiobook was a really enjoyable experience, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself so involved! I will probably check out some of Lahiri's other books at some point.
