I have to admit this book is kind of confusing and takes a while to get into. I picked to read this book for my summer reading after seeing the movie and knowing that I really like Sparks’ books. I think it was an average book. If you like love and romance novels this may be a good book for you. The story is about a man named Logan Thibolt who found a picture of a woman while he was in the military. His friend victor claims that the picture was good luck and that he should go and find the woman in it. Logan packs up his bags and takes his dog Zues with him to find the woman. He comes across her to find that she lives in a small town and helps her Nana on their dog kennel. He also learns that she has a young son named ben. When Logan comes across the Kennel he applies for a job, soonn though he becomes more than an employee. He begins to become part of the family. Him and Beth begin to hit it off and so do him and ben. He bonds with their family but refrains from telling them why he is there. Logan teaches us through his actions, what you do when you love someone very much. He proves to Ben how a father should be, since his father and Beth’s ex-husband leaves much to be desired. Through kind gestures and words, Logan is able to bond with his lucky charm.
