really liked it
Read from September 03 to 12, 2012

very strong collection and some of these stories are amazing. a great way to wade into william gay... i did enjoy the novels more. maybe because his character development is so rich and the longer form allows more time to explore.

Kevin Hi Mark. My reading over many years, has led me to the Southern Literary Trail; McCarthy, O'Connor, Woodrell, Gautreaux, Portis, et al. But above all these stands my latest discovery. William Gay- god rest his soul. The man will be sorely missed. At least I am new to him, and still have the bulk of his work to look forward to.
Recently read The Long Home, and finishing it has left a hole in me, if you know what I mean.
I worry than once I've read all his work, I'll have nowhere to go. Do you have any other favourite authors who are anywhere close to being this good?
