bookshelves: to-read

If you are looking for a different type of YA that incorporates a unique setting steeped in shamanism and native lore, this is your book! Townsend weaves themes of betrayal, love and overcoming the impossible to regain one's humanity. Dual protagonists--a girl trying to escape both an abusive father figure and deep guilt over her mother's unfortunate death, and a boy trapped in the body of an Alaska wolf by an ancient evil that wiped out his family--find one another and discover something long lost for both: trust, friendship and love.
