I wish I was still reading it. Painful at times - the conflicts life brings to each of us, the conflicts our decisions bring to us, and the pain and suffering we create in ourselves and others. Uplifting - in seeking to understand that events are greater than we are and in understanding an eastern way of thinking - often in contrast to the western view of a clear right and wrong. I really enjoy stories of and set in the east - this was no exception. The author's style, language, imagery, imagination, research are all to be commended.

I would read this again.
