I usually don't go for crime novels, but have always heard so much about this. I'm also fascinated by Truman Capote, so this was a must.
This is probably one of the best books I've ever read. Totally absorbing. One that made me eagerly await having spare time so I could continue reading.
Capote invented the genre of "non-fiction novel" with this. Blend of fact and speculation, based on actually knowing the killers well through many visits. The varying viewpoints within the book also gave it more depth.
I don't want to give spoilers, so I'll stop here. But this book deserved all of its many awards.
