really liked it

I can't put into words, exactly, why I liked this book. A young girl survives abuse done at the behest of a religious leader, learns to speak properly, and escapes to lead a good life within their small mountain town.

You know how the descriptions in some books just drone on? They don't in this one. There's just enough description to make you understand what Marjorie is seeing/thinking/feeling... And enough to remind you of similar thing you may have seen or experienced yourself.

This is a well written book with an engaging story and strong heroine.
