** spoiler alert ** As always with Kathy Reichs, you get what you expect.
While I mostly appreciate this - I'm looking forward to that one crime novel I can sink into over the summer every year, actually - you also have to expect the novels to be sort of formulaic. All the way through I was waiting for that Tempe-in-mortal-danger moment, and of course it happened eventually...
Other than that the case was quite interesting, actually. I admire the fact that Reichs always seems to find new fields for her cases, even if I guess it's rather questionable that Brennan would actually go to the middle of nowhere in northern Canada just to pursue a fugitive when her job is basically just to examine the remains.
Oh well, I'll stop now, the first two sentences of this review basically say it all anyway.
