"Unexpected suck" might be a bit strong for this one, but it definitely didn't live up to the intrigue of the back blurb. I expected something a little more period-tastic (it was not), and her "madness" to be more exciting (it was not). All in all, a diverting enough read - when things got climactic, they got climactic... no, not like THAT. But it was exciting. Just not terribly well-plotted and the characters were kind of... 2.5-D. Another one of those good vacation reads that don't have to be spectacular, just interesting.

Stephanie THANK YOU! That's what bothered me the whole time. Like I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to accept that some of them were deformed-looking and others looked human.


Shoshana Yeah. I mean. Rabbit+sheep... and the fingers came from WHERE?
