This novel was destroyed by it's own plot. I can't imagine a more boring plot than one involving a space transport ship captain and the intricacies of shipping and trade negotiations. Wow.

To be fair, the protagonist was a sympathetic character, and not overly bland, but given the setting, it was hard to be interested in any of her motivations. And there was about 40 pages of real action in the third act, but not enough to overcome the other 260 pages of BLAH.
