I liked this novella a lot. I didn't realize it was as short it was (because my version contains explanatory notes and critical essays). It's a good allegory of how societies tend to simply shut off the undesirable, giving them the simplest of necessities until they die and their burden. In a lot of ways I could relate to Gregor during the time that I read this book. This is the first book I've read from Kafka and I'm certainly interested in reading more.
