I love this book for its rawness, for the fact that it most closely mirrors Austen's own life. I'm grateful for the happy ending, which is wonderful, but I always see, lurking behind it, the fact that Austen almost gave it a bleaker ending that matched her own experience. This book has the brilliance and humor sharp observations of humanity that I love so much in her other books, but has an added dimension of feeling more personal, more like you're getting a glimpse into Austen's heart.
