I truly loved this book. Despite the very dark beginning, the story evolved into something beautiful. There is something about this author's writing style that I find really alluring. Its not flashy or over the top, its just really good, solid, writing. I think I'm definitely going to have to check out some of her earlier books.

Note: I know this is kind of irrelevant, but I really hated the cover art for this book. It looks awkward and strange, but that might be excusable if it actually seemed to relate to the book in some way, which it does not. Was this art work even done for this book, or did they just borrow some other random book's cover art reject and slap it on this book? I feel like the cover could have been so much more awesome if they had taken something from the story (like they did with Dragonskeep - that one had awesome cover art, in my opinion). Anyway, I guess this is another case, of don't judge a book by its crappy cover, you never know what gem will be inside.
